French Conversation Group
||Private House in Yateley
We meet weekly on Thursday mornings from 9.45am to around 11.30am.
The meeting venue is a private house, details of which can be obtained by
telephoning Chris Ealden.
We all have a reasonable understanding of French with a mixed range of abilities.
We have engaged the services of a native French speaker as our tutor who,
although working us well, still manages to introduce a lot of humour
into the proceedings.
You are welcome to come along to a couple of Meetings to see
if the Group would be of interest.
If you decide to join, we will make a
charge to cover the tutor s fee and expenses.
We enjoy discussing many subjects in French to the best of our
ability and often gain an insight from our tutor into French life,
customs and politics.
The more formal part of the activity may involve a subject introduced
by a French TV or radio excerpt, a Comic strip such as Gaston or
an extract from a newspaper or magazine followed by an interactive
role-play to test our understanding of the subject.
We are encouraged to attempt further study by a homework exercise
based on the subject discussed during the morning session.
We have our own website with more details of our activites
including a taste of some of our class-work, meetings timetable,
some links to other U3As and local organisations, a photo-gallery
and a miscellany of interesting French topics.
